
Charter Purposes:
- To develop and disseminate concepts that promote neighborhood
development that is sensitive to the existing historic, architectural, and cultural
setting
- To form a communications network of interested groups and individuals
through the use of meetings, publications, and electronic communications
- To encourage the citizens and public officials of Erie and Niagara
counties to appreciate the educational, architectural, historical, cultural, and
aesthetic significance of the buildings, structures, neighborhoods, parks, and settings
of Erie and Niagara counties
- To cooperate with and encourage public participation by other
organizations and individuals having similar purposes by means of advice, publicity,
financial assistance, and other means;
- To disseminate information and stimulate public interest in history,
architecture, and culture through exhibits, programs, and printed material, and the
promotion of training and research in those areas
- To review laws affecting conservation, zoning, and planning to
determine whether such laws are being enforced and to persuade the proper officials
to enforce such laws
